Don't know about there but here when I was a kid in school there were fights all the time, I remember one time there were 6 state police stationed inside the gym during a conference tournament (b-ball), not sure how many were outside... but they knew trouble could be coming.
Pretty much settled down in the last 30-40 years but it use to be bad.
You couldn't possibly know the whole story with only half the facts.
