Been to a lot of places in Ireland but not to the Jameson's distillery. Barb is Irish.
About that pub. About a half hour drive from the pub we stayed at a "farm stay" -the Irish version of a bed and breakfast. When we were shown our bedroom I noticed photos of Dodger players, baseballs, photos of Dodger stadium, banners of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and lots of other Dodger paraphernalia . When I asked him what was up with all the Dodger stuff he said "follow me". He took Barbara and I around to the back of his small home and into a small old garage filled with hay. He told us that was where Walter O'Malley's (Dodger owner)
great grandfather was born.
Before we left "the pub" there were two old guys drinking beer outside. When we left the farm stay we had to go back to the pub because it intersected with a road we "thought" would take us to our next stay. The two old guys were there once more sitting in the same chairs drinking beer-presumably Guiness. They waved at us apparently recognizing us when we left the day before. So on the new road about a half hour into the trip we were lost quickly learned we had taken the wrong road from the pub. So back we go and-you guessed it-same two old guys drinking beer ourside the pub. Now they are having a good time at us going back and forth so they kept waving. There were like 3 or 4 road than all intersected at "the pub". We were told to take another road to our stay that night-so off we went waving goodby to the two old guys. Not so fast ! This time we were gone several hours before a kind lady told us we were on the wrong road and showed us a genuine map of where we needed to go but-you guessed it-we had to go back to the pub and yes same two guys were in their chairs drinking beer laughing and waving at us. So what did we do? Went inside and had a couple beers and finally left on the right road ! Once again the two old guys waved us goodby .
