I do this often.... I'm actually obsessive about. While watching old films I wonder, "Where is that prop today? And that one? And that one".
An example: I just chose this movie scene at random with an internet search... just happened to be from "The Thin Man".... look at the flower vase I highlighted... now that vase HAS to be stored somewhere... studio maybe, perhaps a prop house, could be in some actor/director/lighting tech's home bedroom.... but it's almost CERTAINLY still around.
And chances are that vase was in more movies than Gene Hackman.
