If you don't understand the structure of a language and how to use it, then oral and written communication is gonna suck eggs and you'll either sound like an toddler or a hick.
As our emphasis in society for certain "standards" in education has disappeared, so have the abilities of our students who eventually become the leaders and backbone of our society, but who cares... right? If some folks are happy with us being fat, dumb, but happy... and they want to live without the confines of language structure, since it has no meaning, who am I to deprive them?
