some of Hitchcock's methods in building suspense, which worked REALLY well.. Its funny that millennials these days are bored senseless when they watch Jaws because the shark isn't visible for the first hour - they don't "get" the methods employed in the movie because they're used to CGI laying everything out right off the bat - sometimes in an extremely POOR way.. Like you said, just about every other shark movie..
What REALLY irritates me is decades ago Spielberg was able to give us extremely realistic CGI dinosaurs.. why hasn't anyone been able to do realistic CGI sharks? You can generally watch EVERY shark movie made since Jaws and determine how much the movie will suck by how poor the shark looks - and in none of them does the shark look realistic, except maybe the first Deep Blue Sea movie, but I think they used a combo of CGI and actual robotic sharks..
The other thing I can't stomach is that the shark looked progressively worse in every Jaws sequel.. You would expect them to get better with better technology in robotics and whatnot, but they get worse with every flick.. By Jaws the Revenge it was a total joke..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
