I've always found that odd....

when pilots get spatial disorientation cuz it would seem like they could just check their instruments for level flight and whatnot and have it all figured out.. But, I guess instruments do screw up, at times.. My biggest worry would be pitot tubes getting clogged.. You might as well just pick a place to crash in that event..

You can get disoriented in a halocline.. just like a cloud, there is no up or down or sideways.. Totally shrouded in mystery.. I do go through them, at times, but will often try to go around, over, or under them.. I'm there for the scenery in the cave - not to be completely confused by inability to see anything.. I do go through them, for the experience, but I try to avoid them, most of the time..
