the part about shellfish having the texture of 'slime', I mean. Raw Oysters I can see... they do have a slimy texture... delicious to me but yes, slimy.
However - shrimp? Crab? Lobster? Scallops? don't think I've ever ate any shellfish that I thought had a slimy texture... other than raw oysters, as I said.
Of course 'liking them' is different... if you don't you don't.
And you're right - people do try to force foods on you don't they? I don't know why they do that but it's VERY common.
Now I'm a bad example because there are VERY few foods that I 'do not like'.... almost none. Many are nothing special to me so I never order them or even have them at home.... but it's not that i 'hate' the taste it's just that they don't do anything for me. Example:
I'm not a fan of Vanilla Ice Cream. It doesn't taste "bad" to me... the problem for me is that it doesn't taste 'anything'...no flavor at all. I can eat it... and do with toppings, but plain Vanilla is as "Vanilla" as it gets for me. HOWEVER.... people insist that I just haven't tried good vanilla so they demand I try French Vanilla, or Vanilla Bean, or whatever other name they can come up with and the result? All the same to me... flavorless vanilla ice cream. - JamesJM
