That's the point. From 2-high Rams can play (are do a lot) rotate to cov-3, or can play 2-man, Cov-2, Cover-4, Cover-6, Cover-8.
With can complain all we want about window dressing but when rams are up (and it was proven that it is far more than people's "eyes"there is a reason. It's because they are showing a Cov-2 look to that side. They can do it, bail, or whatever. So, to the extent they are disguising it, how do any of us know? I don't think we do.

Nothing more than an opinion of Fire Morris said in a softer way. Where we like it or not there is no way on God's
green earth that Morris does not "know what is required". We fans have no clue what is "required" and have no ability to know that in the first place.
All evidence is that Morris is smart. Saying he does no have a "strong grasp" is again, a softer way of saying he's not smart.
Staley would meet that objective.
His defense is 21st in yards, 25th in points allowed. He has All-pro safety, Pro Bowl edge, signed an All-pro corner that didn't do well. rushing defense 28th
sack % 20th. (Rams 23rd) - - - maybe he's not all that

Fangio obviously would as well. Both are well steeped in the chosen scheme McVay prefers.

It sucks for McVay but to date he has always made that hard call when it had to be made. So I have faith he'll do what must be done.
Yeah, fix the last-place offense, i.e. fix the offensive line, get an edge rusher.
Bottom line is what you say is opinion and is not backed up by the data. It's the "eyes" thing again. And we know how that goes
when we sometimes filter things about because of bias.
That's my opinion.
That said---I have always maintained I prefer a 4-3 defense with good DEs, and multiple coverages. Something akin to
the Fisher, Saleh, even Dan Quinn school of thought. Was not a fan of the Fangio scheme and took a lot of time
to understand it because I really didn't. It's pretty complex.
