For openers, did you notice that I didn’t include Edwards in my projection? Even if healthy, I consider him the weakest link. And surely gone after this season, anyway. I actually would prefer Shelton at LG and leave Aboushi at RG. I think Aboushi can and will settle in and gel between Allen and Hav. Did you notice his improvement in 2nd half of Panthers game?

I did. However, I also noticed that McVay went "back-to-the-future" with his offensive play-calling in that 2nd half. I believe that he employed the same smoke & mirrors in order to protect an O-line that didn't play very well in the 1st half (at least, that's how I saw it).

My other concern is that you seem to be taking a small sample size of performance against an opponent that isn't very good.

Yes, to his credit, McVay FINALLY made needed and obvious adaptations in his play calling in the 2nd half. I was screaming at my TV in that first half. Lol.

But that’s not the point of our discussion. What McVay had to do to protect a crippled OL is one thing, but we are now gonna start getting quality starters back to replace some deep backups. Specifically, Allen immediately and Shelton in 2 weeks. Both huge upgrades over Kolone and Evans, respectively.

So, the problems necessitating drastic adjustments to protect a crippled OL will no longer exist. Thus, no great need to fix a problem that’s already been fixed.
