Well, you are arguing that Perkins should be the back up QB and giving your reasons. This was much discussed after PS. I'm not going down that path again. On the official depth chart Perkins is our #3 and will most likely be inactive each week in that role. It doesn't really matter how he could be used if he isn't eligible.
To get him up you would have to deactivate another player. Who? Perkins doesn't play on STs. It's the same reason McClutch isn't playing. He lacks experience and is buried on the depth chart. He doesn't play STs. If we see either player in the lineup then we have serious injury problems like Stafford and/or CK being out. And I don't think we want that.
If Stafford doesn't start spreading the ball around....he is going to get Cooper Kupp injured. He can't target Kupp 20 times each game...the wear and tear on him will get him injured soon. Something isn't right with Stafford's arm. If he can't throw the ball deep with accuracy the defenses are going to stack the box soon....I think we saw some of that with the 49ers.blitzing. Stafford lack of arm strength is another reason why the run game is going to suffer with defenses stacking the box to stop the run knowing he can't throw deep.
Did you know that the Rams didn't have a play over 20 yards against the 49ers? That hasn't happened since 2007.
