Why not give Perkins a shot. He does well under pressure and makes things happen. He can out run a blitz and usually makes something out of nothing. With the OLine playing as bad as they have, I believe Perkins would benefit our offense. At least give him a chance in certain situations.
This is an unserious suggestion.
Perkins is only on the 53 because McVay feared that he would be claimed by a desperate team. He will never be active much less see the field barring utter catastrophe. At that point it won’t matter who is at QB because the season is lost.
If it were up to me Perkins would have been traded or cut at final cutdown. He is taking the roster spot of another promising youngster that might one day be developed into an actual contributor.
All due respect, but to think Perkins could exceed Stafford under these conditions is just wishful thinking.
