I'm bullish on McCutcheon too. But I do think- for 2022- the WR3 job remains solidly Jefferson's.
The other thing to keep in mind is that, barring injuries, the WR4 (or several that contribute to it) likely won't produce much. The past 3 seasons the WR4 spot for the Rams has caught a total of 59 passes- so about 20 per season.
I think McVay’s approach this year might be a little different, 93. In fact, I think you’ve posted as much, yourself.
Namely, Kupp and AR will get the lions share of targets for obvious reasons. But that 3rd WR role will now consist of some kind of rotation of Jefferson, Atwell, McCutcheon, and Skow, not necessarily in that order.
The order will be determined by 2 things.
Who’s hot and who best possesses skills that McVay prefers against that week’s specific opponent.
I think RB’s are also gonna have a bigger pass catching role this year, too.
McVay will be once again forcing opponents to catch up with his constantly evolving strategies.
