These days, there are fewer and fewer traditions. Networks bounce Commentators around.....If the price is right. I grew up with ROCK SOLID guys on TV. CBS was Summerall / Brookshier / Madden NBC was Engerg / Olsen and MNF was the CLASSIC trio of Cosell, Gifford and Dandy Don.

NCAA ball....You knew it was special when you heard Keith Jackson call a game on ABC (WHOOOOA NELLIE!!) Dodger fans had Scully. I grew up a Cubs fan with Harry Carray and Steve Stone.


I honestly cannot see any kids remembering who called what on what channel 35-45 years from now. Hell, you'd be doing good to get a kid to tell you who called games LAST season. SO glad I grew up with the Classics! OH! Lets not for get the voices of NFL Films....John Facenda and Harry Kalas.
