It's funny that the author would mention the Rams' "poor production running the ball in the red zone" but not say a word about the OL.
Here's a thought. The Rams as an organization prioritize OL who can pass block and implement the outside zone blocking scheme. You know what those OL are likely to be not so good at? Blowing the guy in front of them back a couple yards.
Talk about the RBs all you want, but to this point the Rams have struggled in short yardage situations for a while - goal- to-go for sure, but also 3rd-and-short and 4th-and-short anywhere on the field.
Maybe a healthy Akers will help. Maybe getting Bruss and Noteboom on the field will help. But smash-mouth football is an inherent weakness of a zone blocking team. It should have at least been mentioned ...
That's why I say we should have at least one "big" back that can break some tackles and get those "tough" yards that our scat backs just can't get consistently.
Sony was a close to a "big guy" that we had. We need someone even bigger, stronger.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
