It's funny that the author would mention the Rams' "poor production running the ball in the red zone" but not say a word about the OL.
Here's a thought. The Rams as an organization prioritize OL who can pass block and implement the outside zone blocking scheme. You know what those OL are likely to be not so good at? Blowing the guy in front of them back a couple yards.
Talk about the RBs all you want, but to this point the Rams have struggled in short yardage situations for a while - goal- to-go for sure, but also 3rd-and-short and 4th-and-short anywhere on the field.
Maybe a healthy Akers will help. Maybe getting Bruss and Noteboom on the field will help. But smash-mouth football is an inherent weakness of a zone blocking team. It should have at least been mentioned ...
