the idea behind the writers piece is interesting.... unless you can see outside their limited box of view!!

Good teams, draft well and develop players well.

They also pay some mega stars big money that really make a difference, while some other teams (that we wont directly mention) pay average FA's crazy money.
But therefore the Rams let these good players they've developed go..... and get rewarded with comp picks.

The writers theory would end up in a drive to the bottom..... continually rewarding bad teams... for being bad!!!!
