If there's no difference in your mind the how about just sticking to the facts: AD has thrown the retirement word around (IMO as a negotiating strategy) but has not threatened a holdout.

I cannot find a record of AD threatening a holdout this offseason although my research skills are pitiful compared to yours, AlbaNY.

But, in the interests of context:

AD HAS employed a holdout in the past.

A retirement is the nuclear version of a holdout threat and AD has mentioned that retirement threat multiple times recently.

So, don’t you think that the technicality of not uttering the word ‘holdout’ vs having definitely threatened retirement many times is a distinction without a difference from Rams pov? And the pov of us fans?

A helluva veiled threat, imo.
