We certainly want what he has to offer for the next couple of years. It's been fantastic. It certainly will continue to be for a couple of more years.

But all players age out. AD could conceivably lose some desire, and will is at least as important to AD as his body.

It has been an incredible luxury to have him as an anchor. But he will leave, now or later. We will have to defend without him.

And you know Jalen and Bobby are aging as well. It's the price of building on vets. We have to face the prospect of playing without superstars.

But you know it can be done. You can have a very effective No Name defense.

I liked the line in the article about the cap not being an illusion. It is elastic, and Les has gotten an incredible level of value by stretching it. But I think it's clear that the limits are looming.

I always look ahead. The FO has to be aying plans for life after AD. I know it is doing that. Les talks about knowing your window. I am confident that he is laying out a strategy for the looming challange ... rebuilding the roster for the next window.

People blithely assume Les will acts as he has recently. Sign expensive stars. Make Week 10 trades giving picks for aging studs.

Well, that tactic won us a ring. But I personally do not want any more expensive splashes. We have a damn good roster now. It may or may not get us another ring. But I want to see us start replenishing our draft and cap resources for the transition to the next window. We will need them.

We as fans have become addicted to getting high profile vets. But you know we damn near lost the SB to a team with not much star power.

Let's rebuild our assets for a year or two for the post-AD era. Even if that era starts right now. I'd rather lose AD now than kill our cap for a half decade for an aging stud who just might be running out of desire.
