I'm saying that just because a guy is a good co-ordinator doesn't mean he'll be a good HC. Two entirely different jobs. Good Team Presidents understand that; poor Team Presidents often just pick the latest hot co-ordinator.
That said, most teams will hire somebody else's co-ordinator, or a previous HC, and always with mixed results.
Morris has been around along time, in different roles, and as an HC. Lots of info and intel on him. So him not being tagged this time around as an HC doesn't increase his chances next time around. In fact, with all the new HCs hired this year, those are for sure openings that won't be there next year. Now, should the Rams have a top 5 D this coming year? Yeah, teams with a propensity to hire the latest hot co-ordinator will likely take a stronger look at Morris.
