Morris has shown he is a very good defensive coordinator who can make adjustments in mid season to fix performance issues. .
Defense performed slightly better in first half of season.
Juts because a few people on THIS board and another board think something happened does not mean it did.
Nothing happened with regards to Morris. The defense had some breakdowns by players who were new . .. but that is in comparison to 2020
this myth of the defense getting better in the 2nd half od the season is just that a myth
The defense was consistent all along.
Now, the discussion about the playoffs is different. There were things done there that we had no seen in the regular season. At all.
But no one knows what they are so there is no need to get into them.
But the run defense was slightly worse, the defensive passer rating was slightly worse, interceptions and sacks went down, slightly
passing yards went down (and improvement) slightly.
Stop with the myths. Go by what ACTUALLY happened. Including the points the offense gave away during Stafford slumpt the defense
allowed fewer points, but that happened vs Tenn in first half of season, too.
People's memories fade when they turn off the TV and unless they study what happened they just don't know for sure. They get an idea in their head
and often cannot recall things properly. Happens to me and I have to check and double check and watch and study.
Some of the WORST runs defense games were in the 2nd half of the season when A-Shawn was supposedly dominant. That did not occur until playoffs. Scott was supposedly a revelation. NOT until the playoffs.
The defense overall was good in regular season. But the playoffs is what people are remembering, I think and it was near-dominant. It went for good to great based on several factors, it measured up to some of the great defensive performances of the past in terms of great Rams defensive performances in playoffs.
