I think it is highly probable that Morris gets offers to be a head coach next season. 1. Because he deserves it and is ready. 2. The NFL is determined to add more black head coaches and is forcing the issue.
Morris has shown he is a very good defensive coordinator who can make adjustments in mid season to fix performance issues. This trait is so important for good coaches and he also showed he could adjust and integrate new players, Miller, Scott, Howard, Gaines into new or bigger roles in the defense.
Morris is a players coach and gets the most out of his players and allows strong personalities to lead. He is a bundle of enthusiasm and a great motivator.
Finally he already has head coaching experience and while that did not work out very well we must acknowledge that he was very young when given the opportunity and by his own admission not ready for the job. Well know he is ready and has successful experience, has grown as a leader of men, and will have spent 2 years studying McVay's offense and leadership style. If the defense and the Rams are relatively successful he will get a HC job and we will be looking for another Defensive Coordinator. At least we will get a 3rd rounder in return which would not have been the case if he got the HC job last season.
