Admittedly the GMFB crew aren't the Niners' coaches. But what has Lance done to make anyone think he's going to be better than Jimmy G?
Jimmy G is a good NFL QB; just not a top one. And that's why the Niners want to move on from him. He's as good as it's going to get, and he's just that half-step lower than needed to win the Lombardi.
The Niners' have pushed all their chips to the middle on Lance. But so far what they have to show for it isn't very promising. Now what? I wouldn't at all be surprised that they hang on to Jimmy G using the shoulder surgery as an excuse.
The Lance thing has the potential to cost the GM his job.
