Re: 2 sprained AC joints

Jalen Ramsey reveals he played half the season with two AC joint sprains [theramswire.usatoday.com]

<<My take: Ramsey played 10 games up to and including the SB with 2 separated shoulders>>

Some Google info:

What is an AC joint? The acromioclavicular, or AC, joint is a joint in the shoulder where two bones meet. One of these bones is the collarbone, or clavicle. The second bone is actually part of the shoulder blade (scapula), which is the big bone behind the shoulder that also forms part of the shoulder

What does AC joint pain feel like? Some common symptoms include: Pain at the top of the shoulder that may spread to the side of the neck. Snapping or clicking sound as you move your shoulder. Limited range of motion, such as when lifting up your arm.

What is a separated shoulder? A mild shoulder separation involves a sprain of the AC ligament that does not move the collarbone and looks normal on X-rays.

Excerpt from that article:

While on “The Pivot Podcast” Tuesday, Ramsey revealed that he played about half the season with sprained AC joints in both of his shoulders. That included the Rams’ Super Bowl run, with Ramsey estimating he played through the injuries for probably 10 games.

“This year, I sprained both my AC joints,” he said. “Crazy. Both of them. So I played half the year, probably 10 games, with two AC joints sprained. Both of them, gone.”
