That was so staged it was not even funny. It was a trigger for Rome's TV show on ESPN. I honestly had never heard of Rome till that "INTENSE" scuffle! Gotta say. It worked because Rome was all over Sports news after that.
They should have taken lessons from Jerry Lawler. His slapping Kaufman on Letterman was GOOD acting!
