Agreed. I too think overall the Niners had more talent and were the superior team in 89. We were the classic underdog. That Niners team was one of the all time best teams . They were loaded on offense and defense.
Rams had the bad luck to run into that team just as they did with the 85 Bears. Both years I am sure the Rams would have won the SB had they reached it. Both years the Rams were the second best team in the NFL. Bad timing.

Could not agree more, that 1985 team with that defense I always think how close the Rams were to signing Warren Moon in 1984, but lost out to the Oilers then settled for Dieter Brock in 1985, who was not in Moon's class. If the Rams had Warren Moon in 1985 against the Bears, they win that game IMHO. Because the defense the Rams had was very close to the Bear Defense IMHO.
