The was the 49ers' previous 'drive', right after the Rams scored to make it 27-17:
1st & 10 at SF 25 J.Garoppolo pass short right to G.Kittle to SF 26 for 1 yard.
2nd & 9 at SF 26 J.Garoppolo pass incomplete short middle to G.Kittle.
3rd & 9 at SF 26 J.Garoppolo sacked at SF 17 for -9 yards.
3 plays that lost 8 yards. Then the teams exchange punts. And then the 49ers go 88 yards to tie. Maybe it was expecting too much, but if the defense showed up on the last drive like the did on the second-to-last drive the three running plays might look like brilliance.
Question for those who break down tape: did the Rams change their defensive philosophy that last drive and play a prevent? Or did they just get beat doing what they did the previous drive?
