Is McVay the only coach that Shanahan plays a mind trick with? Why can't he translate that to other teams they play - they might be winning the division if he did. As with most games it comes down to matchups and the 9'ers are able to exploit our mediocre to poor interior linebackers to create passing space for quick dump offs. We generally don't get to Garrapolo much in these games as he's constantly chucking it immediately for 5,6,7 yards in the air. The eat clock with way and limit our possessions. In a sense, they are playing not to lose and not having to make too many chunk plays. I guess with other teams this strategy doesn't work as well, hence the 7 losses this year and more than that last year.
If we execute well and limit mistakes we should win. It's up to the Rams, not Shanahan and the 9'ers.
