Jaguars look to be on their way to screwing it up again

Looking at the names of their potential coaching hires that are being floated about, it ought to make any Jaguar fan reflexively flinch.
They are looking mainly, it appears, at hot OCs and DCs who have never been HCs. Or at an HC or 2 that have not fared well in the NFL (Caldwell).
They don't need rookies (although everyone is looking for the next Sean McVay). What the Jags need is an old hat, with a good rep, to instill some discipline and purpose into this team. They probably need a younger Tom Coughlin. But, since that kind of coach isn't in vogue any longer, I think they ought to seriously think about Doug Pederson who was unceremoniously dumped from Philly. He's a good and experienced HC, he knows a thing or two about QBs (since part of his job will be to develop his young Q
, and he's available.
I know the league requires that the team go through a lot of hoops to satisfy all kinds of social/ethnic/gender/racial requirements, but there's only so many people out there that have even the most remote chance of getting the Jags turned from a perennial loser into a winner. Of everyone that could be available, I think Pederson would be a very good choice. For one reason he will have associations with good NFL experienced coaches and assistants to bring along with him.
However, my guess is that they'll throw caution to the wind and go with either Kellen Moore or Bryon Leftwich in hopes of striking gold. Good luck.
