He is the best and last hope for a competent ILB on this roster. For whatever reason the Rams continue to take Jones off the field when one LB is needed and they leave Reeder in and to be honest Reeder should be a backup and special teams player if that.
Right now Reeder and Rapp are being picked on and they just aren't good enough zone players to play as much zone as the Rams want to do.
Yesterday was just another game playing against a good QB who knew right where to go with the ball and did it over and over again in the middle of the field where Reeder and Rapp spend time missing guys running right into the zone behind them. When you watch them their eyes never leave the QB so they are unaware of the routes and which way to slide to take away the window and make the QB hold the ball just a split second longer that would result in pressures and or sacks or errant throws. They get flat-footed and Rogers just waited for the WR or TE to slide in behind them and then use his eyes to hold them still and toss the ball for easy completions and first downs.
Hollins is a very good cover LB and he has great size and athletic ability. I pray they put him inside he can and will make a difference for this D. He is a good open-field tackler with better feet and movement skills and awareness than Reeder. Hollins cant get back soon enough. We just have to hope the Rams understand they have the depth they need at OLB, so move a player like Hollins inside where he can make the greatest impact to help this team.
