Decency from the NFL owners? Wow. Like Robert Kraft? He would NEVER condone such a thing, would he? Of course, the owners, being the hypocrites that they are, may just use Watson as an opportunity. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they railroad Watson, for the same exact things that they do, just to divert attention away from themselves and perpetuate the facade of the NFL being pious and altruistic.
As far as Miami's owner, he desperate to sell seats. And if Ray Lewis, Michael Vick. Leonard Little, etc. can do what they did and still have a job, this particular situation is ludicrous. If Watson starts winning games for Miami, what do YOU think would happen? How upset would that fan base be? Would they quit going to Dolphins games more than they do now? I don't think they've got anything to lose.
And I'm not saying that Watson didn't cross any moral lines. But, our society is completely screwed up right now. The NFL is screwed up. The Gruden situation being a perfect example. Gruden said some salty things, in private, to his friend. That's it. But he is being vilified as a homophobic bigot because he said someone can go suck his dick. Is it vulgar? Yeah, and it was meant to be. It was two buddies cuttin' on someone they didn't agree with. Any honest, rational person would see that. Firing a guy for venting and talking @#$%&...firing a football coach for that...if one condones or agrees with that, then I think they are the one's with a character flaw.
Which brings us back to Watson. You seem pretty critical of him because he was playing grab-ass and willing to pay for some attention. He isn't married. He doesn't have kids. He didn't harm anyone or force anyone or coerce anyone. Not that's been reported. This isn't Harvey Weinstein using his power and influence to trap ladies into doing his bidding. But, you tell me. Realistically, is this Watson, all on his own, creating this situation or do many of these independent contractors willingly sell services not offered on paper?
