The world today is nothing like it was in the Vick era.
This is a world of identity politics, cancel culture, and total media dominance from a single viewpoint with all others blocked by social media and political correctness.
Further, you might want to reconsider your post. While I know that's not at all what you mean, from the cancel culture viewpoint you are comparing crimes against women with crimes against dogs.
Watson is accused of even more than "exposing himself" to these women. At the least the definition of sexual battery applies due to the physical contact if the accusations are true. Are they? Well, since when are not people already judged in the media UNLESS they are media favorites and then miraculously it all kind of evaporates (as it has seemed to for Watson) or endless pooh-poohing or excuses are made. His employer had done pretty much nothing. He's still on the team and getting paid. Why is it different for him when we are still in the age of "always believe the woman"? I'll let you ponder why that might be. Because in the age of cancel culture, no one dare publicly venture their opinion about it if it doesn't follow the media narrative.
I don't know if Watson did much of anything at all. But if not, there is one hell of a large conspiracy going on here.
