Looking back at the AZ/Rams game: Kyler Murray played one hell of a game. This was a QB that was "in the zone"... and sometimes you just can't stop that.
Some of his passes were just insanely accurate.. what QBs dream of.
3rd year of Kingsbury's offense so things are probably more natural for Kyler. Probably why he is putting up insane numbers at the start.
Key is.. there will be some defense out there that will provide clues on how to stop AZ.
And there will be games when Kyler is just off. So time will tell on long term sustainability
For the Seattle game... Seattle's offense with Russell plays into the hands of the Rams defense more. Russell holds the ball way too long and refuses to check down. You don't see quick timing passes with him. Mostly hold onto the ball and wait for the deep 15yard+ routes develop. The defense sometimes gets burnt on long yardage plays... but then they can clamp down more on a short field.
When Geno came in, Geno hit more of the under 10+ yard routes, but he was still waiting on longer plays to develop. So not sure if Seattle's playbook still had the QBs focusing on long developing routes or if it was just QB's choice. Either way, Seattle's style of offense suits the Rams defense better... sometimes it's just about matchups.
