Here’s oldnotdead…
Morris started to play Staley's aggressive style and when he did the results were just like last year. When he backed off and went passive it was just like Sunday. Chill? I was right. Morris took the number one defensive and dropped them into the bottom half of the defenses in the NFL and you guys are okay with that?
Good enough isn't good enough if you want a Lombardi. That is the truth. Morris needs to build upon Staley's work not @#$%& can it. Hopefully, he will. I have no doubt that the word came down from the top he needed to change back.
They held the Hawks to a bit over 270 yds in passing, 2 TDs passing, and 2 INTs. Last year's scheme still works. Morris must build on it. Add his own wrinkles yeah, but play it. In this game the DBs when playing zone defended the receiver in man coverage when he entered that zone. When Morris played his zones passively, they got picked apart. Morris moved Jalen around but kept him in the secondary and stopped playing him like a LB.
If Morris continues to play this D aggressively the Rams will win. It won't have to depend upon Stafford to carry the team. Chill? Hell Morris did what he should have been doing all season. He cost them one game and hopefully, he will get with the program that good enough isn't good enough. Stat's matter especially TOP as it indicates who controls the game. McVay for his part didn't turn away from the run as he is prone to do.
Sony showed just how good he can be, getting tough yards even when the D is stacked against him but also his pass protection continues to be excellent.
DeCamillis needs to stop trying to KO into the corner short of the goal line. Not only isn't it working it's backfiring and gave the Hawks a short field to convert into points. So far DeCamillis hasn't really improved STs.
