You seem to be willing to die on the Morris hill and I'm not sure why? Morris clearly has this defense less effective than it was last year. The buck stops with him, doesn't it? What history does he have that lends credence to him being such a good DC that the problem must be something other than him?
All year the defense has been sloppy. Missed tackles have been a problem every game. We are getting less pressure on the opposing QB. We're giving up 7+ points more per game over the first quarter of the season than last year. 9 more first downs. 174 more yards. 2 less turnovers. And, it's not like things are getting better or finding their equilibrium.
With the Cardinals in particular, we went from sweeping them last year and holding them to 18 points a game to losing to them and giving up 37.
Morris is certainly a part of the problem.
