The first is his arm strength. His ball on deep outs floats. He's got "enough" arm strength but what that means is that he can't be late on those types of throws or it's an INT. Guy really has to be careful on deep sideline and you can't ignore those throws because if you do that then you shrink the field and that puts the defense in an advantageous position.
Second is his recklessness. The guy took at least 5 vicious shots vs Arizona then comes back in the very next game in the playoffs and almost immediately is knocked out of the game by the same thing.
I really like Wolford. I think he brings great intellect to the position and it means a lot to him. So I see why McVay loves him. But what good are you if you can't control that recklessness. At some point he'll probably get another chance to show what he can do, hopefully not but you know it's coming at some point. When that happens if he runs into some defender and gets knocked out by concussion protocol his career is probably over. You have to be able to show that you can come in and get the team through games as a backup. So far he's 1-1 on that count as a backup.
