There's just too much of a legacy with respect to championships and the Lakers/Dodgers for the Rams to break through right now. Hell, they're lucky that Clay Helton is USC's coach right now or else the Rams would be below them on the pecking order.
Fortunately, I believe that ownership understands this and has put the pieces in place to address it. Now, it's just up to coaches and players.
I think one thing the organization could do would be to try to revive a local AM sports radio station to broadcast the games and provide team-focused content. The station that they're on right now is the Lakers home station - so that's what they're going to talk about until the Rams force the issue. But pair their own station with a winning team? I think that that's the ticket for more media exposure here in LA.
