I mean CJ mashed behind this line and that was with Blythe in the starting five. He mashed. It was some alarming stuff for opposing defenses and in fact helped us get to the big dance that year.
So I'd love to know what went down. I'm convinced something happened like that behind the scenes, some kind of exchange at least. It's not like Gurley did anything vs that Patriots front in the Super Bowl (outside of a nice run that got called back on a BS flag), and btw I always felt like Gurley picked things up a notch after seeing CJ in our backfield down the stretch. CJ was a big part of our renaissance in 2018. So how did he end up not being featured in the second half of that SB game just seems strange to me.
He is exactly what we need. IMO. Experienced chain mover with serious oomph to him. Can take a beating. I just don't get how he's not in the mix, and don't think I ever will. Just the way I see it.
