RAMbler
....that being said, most all things need maintenance.
So I agree with this: "IMO, the "plan" (if you want to call it that) was to "re-invent the wheel" when it wasn't broke. It just needed some "patching".
To me "patching" and "maintenance" are virtually the same thing. The Rams need to move along with the times JUST so we don't continue to play in leather helmets etc....
Of course, this comes from someone who believes the Rams already had one of the most Iconic & recognizable uniforms in all of sports. It didn't need wholesale change (which IMO has occurred)....., just a little updating.
Anyways... I think the bottom line was money (as usual).... and it's Kronke's money so....
But I'll say one more thing... I haven't met up with a football fan yet (Ram fan or otherwise), who likes this new look.
Oh well.....
Well said RAMbler. Well said.
I have met some people that like the uni. however, "tradition" wasn't very important to them due to a younger age or not being a Rams fan for as long.
Tradition is important to me. Legacies are important to me. I am all for winning over new fans just not at the expense of the storied history we have with our team.
As you said, a little maintenance was all that was needed.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
