Personally I don't think they will keep Williams either. The only point I was making was that they could keep him if they wanted to, and if (when?) Williams leaves it will be because that's what the Rams preferred. (As opposed to the narrative that the Rams want to keep him but can't due to the cap.)
I think it's more like this AR. Rams won't sign Wms because the cap implications of doing it are not good. Not in the same year they have to think about OL signings while cap space is tight.
