I would phrase that differently: The Rams are prepared for DW to leave.
(But they are also positioned to resign him if that's what they want to do.)
I will say this. If any of the guys you mentioned are able to play CB2 in Morris' defense then DW is a gonner. The Rams would be happy to pocket a 3rd round comp pick and use that $17M elsewhere (Corbett? Noteboom? And/or FAs from other teams?) if there's a viable option at CB2 in-house.
I don't know, AR. They have a few guys to consider. It's not just Corbett and/or NB. And they have to think about extending Stafford. That would really be 2023 money except then you're whittling that down too with every 2022 agent you sign.
Their notable UFAs for 2022 are
Williams, Jackson,
Corbett, Deayon,
Noteboom, Young, Okoronkwo, &
Joseph-Day. I underlined the guys they would probably at least consider keeping (near as we know at this point). I doubt they can sign all 4 of the underlined guys.
The RFAs include Howard and Gay.
Actually combine UFAs and RFAs they have 6 linebackers up--Howard, Young, Kiser, Okoronkwo, Lawler, and Reeder. If they keep just one of those guys, that's a lot of ground to make up in the draft. Though maybe they cut a couple in Sept. anyway, and keep guys like Garrett and Rozeboom.
In 2022 the cap is 208 M. Right now the Rams are over that to the tune of 11+ M in the red. They can let go of Hav, Whit, Robinson, which gains them 25.7+ M, which leaves around 14 M to work with.
They can restructure guys of course but at a certain point that comes back to bite you.
