He needs to be at the facility - today - working with the strength coaches and a nutritionist. Vets and the NFLPA can say they do better working on their own, but whatever he's doing on his own is woefully inadequate. His frame is so thin and his weight is a a real problem. I wonder if he can do a singe rep of 225. He looks like a runner or maybe a bantamweight boxer. I haven't seen legs that skinny since Marc - the human statue - Bulger. He needs massive caloric intake and training with heavy weights - even if he loses a quarter step. He has speed, that can't be trained into someone - but there are some things he can do to add weight.
If he's not there, maybe one of the private training services that lots of players use - in conjunction with direction from the Rams. As small as his frame is, it might be a struggle to even add 10lbs before the start of the season. And then, of course, with all the running at camp and after - some of the weight comes off.
You'd think he would have bulked up a bit - just to get ready for his pro day and the draft - so either he didn't care or what he was doing was all wrong. 149lbs? Is that some kind of a joke? He probably slid off of a lot of teams boards because of that. If he had weighed in at, even 165 or a little more - he might have been taken even higher. Seriously - you have one job - make yourself as appealing as possible for potential employers and he can't even do that? Doesn't speak well of his work ethic. Unless he has a medical condition - I believe Goff said he had a digestive condition that made it hard for him to gain weight. The Rams helped him fix it. Let's hope it's that, otherwise it makes him look unserious, maybe even lazy.
