There was a a rumor earlier this year, not sure where it started, perhaps a reporter tweet, that McVay wanted to move to a more inside running game.
If so, then having an RT who is best at run blocking loses its importance. Likewise, looking at the LT position, that gives a possible different perspective on Noteboom stepping in after Whit retires since run blocking isn't his strong suit either.
Just a thought.
