The headline may be click bait, but so is your counter argument.
The question McVay was answering was in essence "why trade for Matt Stafford?" Answer: because there's a bunch of things he does better than Goff. And yes, some of it because he's played 7 more years than Goff. And that's a negative for you? Or irrelevant to reality?
It's like you live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment in the middle of downtown. You buy a 4 bedroom 3 bath house with a yard and a pool. A person who knows you well says "why did you buy the house?" Answer: It had 4 bedrooms (implicit: compared to 2), it was in the burbs (implicit: instead of downtown), it has 3 baths (implicit: instead of only 1), it has a yard (implicit: instead of none), and it has private pool (implicit: instead of a shared one or none at all).
The relative comparison with Goff by McVay is of course implicit unless you shut your eyes and plug both ears. Now you can continue to disagree with McVay all you want..... but that comparison is precisely what was happening. You just don't like it.
