The fact we're at this stage of the season with an unsettled Oline is my cause for concern with Staffords injury history. Keep him protected and I'm sure he'll do great things. I see that as anything but guaranteed, but I was wrong about last years line too. We'll see.
As for your side comment about Goff, I thought at the time that the fact he didn't know that the sun sets in the West was a joke. But as the knuckleheaded plays stacked up and he couldn't grasp the fact that the offense had to change yearly (and he with it), proved to me that he just didn't have what it took above the neck to ever be "great".
The only thing Gurley, Cooks and Goff had in common where the poor timing of their contracts. That's some history I'd also like to not see repeated. I think Stafford has every chance to earn a big contract and I'd be happy to let him play out two years to see what we've got and not jump the gun again.
