Least that's how it was offered to me.......
Clearly, the Coach is "all in"
Think they've done a good job of balancing all of it.
Crazy moves with their first rounders, but they've decided "known quantities" over "risk picks" average out better for them
That said, I could be convinced that a safety, an edge, a WR, and a TE could be chosen and have impact in their rookie year in 2021
The first three could probably be found earlly, too.
In fact, I do like a couple of the safeties enough in this class to warrant a hard look. John Johnson's absence is real. That all the DBs left the field injured at some point over the last season could push the ante up for me, as well.
Are you talking 2nd and 3rd rounders here, leaf? If so, I think our Safety position is extraordinarily well stocked, even after JJ’s departure. Therefore, I consider S unlikely to be a pick on Day 2.
OTOH, I consider C and WOLB to be very thin positions. Center is looking like an internal player OR an early draft pick which seems to be a precarious position for Rams, especially after bringing in Stafford. WOLB position seems like a house of cards built around 2 guys that can’t stay healthy and a 3rd guy that lacks pass rush skills (Hollins).
IOW, both of those positions seem to be crying out for help and I expect Snead to address them with 2 of his first 3 picks.
I see CB or LOT as ‘year early’ draft picks.
Day 4 will be BPA’s for depth and development. Could go in almost any direction. Even so, I would think ILB, OL, WR (speedy), RB, and TE might be taken before another Safety.
Lastly, I see Snead straining to do multiple trade downs this year.
