It is highly unusual and even weird to let a coach go over performance issues a month after firing/hiring season.
And when it comes to it--why in the heck would a coach DENY a firing was over performance (?). There would be nothing to be gained by lying about that.
We know why they fired Bill Johnson, the earlier McV DL coach, the guy who got replaced by Henderson. It was because they wanted more of a teacher (which Henderson is). So why start lying about things like that now?
