My point has been and will remain that the defense played poorly but the offense couldn't cover thier slack. The defense did it for them allll year long. If you wanna claim that the whole body of work is discounted by a single game then be my guest. But my retort is that the offense couldn't help out as they failed to do so all year. The way I look at it is the offense did not play well in at least half the games. The defense did not play well in 6 games. They had 4 games in common (both SF games, the Jets and the second Seattle game). On 3 of the other 4 bad offensive games, the Rams won 3, thanks to the defense. In 2 of the other games the defense played bad, the Rams won 1. So the defense pulled the offense over the line more than the offense pulled the defense over the line. But the Green Bay game? That's gotta be put on the defense.
