As bad as they played in that playoff game I still think that the Rams were in it for most of the game even though their offense was kind of hot and cold.football is a three-phase kind of game for a reason. So yes the defense was having a bad game but I wouldn't be shocked if an offense with more potency could have still gone tit for tat. I mean it wasn't like Green Bay's defense was considered top 10 or anything I don't think. And yet our offense still only scored 18 points.
I get that the defense played bad, but at the end of the day for me, they bailed the offense out so many times. How come the offense couldn't just score some more points and keep the game a little bit closer when the defense was struggling?
The offensive skill players including qb did a good job in that game, considering.
The problem with the offense was the OL getting pounded. It was one of the game where that happened to the OL (there were 3 or 4 of them).
Stafford, btw, did not do much better in 2020 when he got heavily pressured. So you better hope they work on that OL.
That is if you remember that the OL is part of the offense and that if it gets pounded that's not good.
Some people can only look at the qb and don't think about the OL. It's an old old blind spot in Rams discussions. Well...you have to if you want an honest and realistic account of what happened in that game.
