...I am saying that is the logical direction your argument goes.
Again I disagree. Talent is just one part of the equation of how well a team functions.
Scheme is another important piece. I've played on teams, primarily basketball teams, in my youth and learned the importance of scheme and how well talent fits together. Once, we played a team that was more talented than us in every way. Bigger. Stronger. Faster. It was intimidating. But we had played together for years and had mastered teamwork inside a great scheme. We literally ran circles around that "team" which was merely composed of individually talented pieces.
That left a lasting impression on me. When things go right, it's not always due to an abundance of talent. When things go horribly wrong, it's not always due to a lack of talent.
It's my opinion that the scheme is highly dependent upon Donald and fully built around him given his status as an all time great. It's not surprising to me that it all falls apart with him missing. IMO, this is the explanation for the GB game.
You bring up a third a third factor in how well a team functions: energy level. (I don't feel that's what it is but it's a valid possibility.) So there are at least three things that could explain the GB with two of them not pointing to a lack of talent.
