But your point is valid. Its a crap shoot. Its why its interesting that people say the Rams don't have 1st Round Picks b/c they "trade" them away - except that the 1st Round picks are Stafford and Ramsey. Those are pretty darn good picks, even if it takes picking for 2 years instead of one.
The real benefit to drafting with the 1s is to get transformative players on the rookie scale with the right of a 5th year option.
It appears getting the right QB this way is damn hard.
